I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for the help and support you have given us over the last few weeks and the incredible send off that you helped to give our baby girl. From the moment we called and spoke to Victoria, we felt she would be looked after as if she were your own.
Peter and Kim were wonderful in organising the preparations for the funeral. Peter paid great attention to every word we said when talking about I, including her being known for her bows and the pink baby on the neonatal unit. He went above and beyond to ensure that the funeral was perfect, including having pink bows tied to the side of her coffin, ensuring the 3 bears that were knitted by her grandmother travelled with her in the carette, and then adjusting the timings of the day when he found out that she was born and passed away at 9:20am, so we could have a minute silence with her at home at 9:20am on the day of the funeral.
The chapel of rest was breath-taking, with pink bows on every door handle, the pink flower lights, the three bears sat on the arm chair and the beautiful candles. It was a perfect environment for us to spend time and say our last words.
The conductor Daniel was the one who really made the day special and faultless. He ensured we had anything we needed, allowed us time with I at home and we truly believed he looked after her throughout the morning as if she was his own. He never left her unattended and when he took the flowers into the chapel, he asked Richard to look after her whilst he did that. This really did mean the world to us. The pink tie he was wearing to support our pink theme and dress code was a wonderful touch. We really felt he went above and beyond to ensure she had the perfect send off.
Richard was also wonderful. The service was perfect. He listened to every detail when we talked about I and ensured the service was personalised to her.
The flowers that were personalised for a baby’s funeral were wonderful. The Winnie the Pooh in the coffin spray was clearly chosen with thought with the Winnie the Pooh quote in the service and coincidentally, it was also the first thing we bought Isabelle when we found out I was pregnant with her so this meant so much.
Thank you to all at lodge brothers who made I’s last journey a truly perfect and memorable one. We will always remember it and I’m sure she feels like a truly loved baby girl who has touched so many hearts in the 27 days she was in this world, making the impossible possible. 💕
