Funeral Arranger Diane at Sunningdale Branch posted on a local community webpage inviting local residents to donate items for her VE Day window display. This includes colourings from two children. and war time hats that belonged to the parents of a neighbour.
Although VE Day cannot be celebrated in style this year it shouldn’t stop us from raising a glass, or a cuppa, to thank all of our WW2 heroes.

Jill Palmer, our Funeral Arranger at Windsor branch has written this heart-felt dedication to all our unsung heroes that work behind the scenes at Lodge Brothers, to let them know how much we respect them:
“This is a dedication to all the staff that work from the shadows. Our private ambulance team and all those who work tirelessly to ensure that everyone has their last time. These are the people that we entru...

On Saturday 7th September 2019, I will be cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats - 9 days, 980 miles. Whilst I undertake this challenge I will be remembering our friend and colleague Ben, who tragically took his own life. I would like to raise money for CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably – a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.

It has been a real privilege to serve the Lewis family here in our Sunningdale Branch, and on Monday 5th August we were able to look after the funeral for The Late Colin Lewis, a prominent business man of Ascot.
Staff, and over a hundred customers of C E Lewis The Butchers, in Ascot High Street, applauded as the funeral cortege, which included his butcher’s van, came past the shop for the final time.
Mr Lewis' fu...

Each year Holy Trinity Church in Sunningdale holds a Memorial Service for local families to remember those loved ones who have passed away that year, and in 2018 the leadership of the Church asked Lodge Brothers District Manager, Richard Leachman, to be a part of the service.
Richard, who read the first of two Bible readings, said: “It was lovely to be a part of such a special time, and the congregation of forty ...

Charlotte has been the Activities Coordinator at Dormy House Care Home in Sunningdale for quite a while, and happened to mention to Richard Leachman (Lodge Brothers' District Manager) that she would like to bring back a petting zoo to the Home.
Richard said he would sponsor it, knowing that the residents loved the opportunity to meet the animals, helping to bring stimulation to their sometimes quiet days. The 'Anim...

The Christmas Street Fair in Sunningdale always happens in November! This year Lodge Brothers set up their stall, with mulled wine and mince pies being the order of the day, to raise some money for a local charity. Branch Arranger, Dawn Hazelton was helped by Windsor Branch Arranger, Jill Palmer and soon-to-be Arranger Susan Reeves, to raise £80 for Bagshot-based charity, Sebastian’s Action Trust.

Funeral floral displays come in all shapes and sizes, but at a recent funeral organised by Dawn Hazelton at the Sunningdale branch of Lodge Brothers, two tributes stood out. The daughter of a local gentleman had his own garden fork and spade adorned with flowers!
District Manager Richard Leachman, who conducted the funeral, commented: 'It was such a lovely tribute. Her father was such a keen gardener that she though...
