VE Day Display at Twickenham Branch

Although VE day cannot be celebrated in style this year it shouldn’t stop us from raising a glass, or a cuppa, to thank all of our WW2 heroes.
This Friday 8th May the Nation toasts together at 3pm from the safety of everyone’s own homes. Whether you are driveway dining, garden gathering (with same household only) or simply saluting from a safe distance we thank you for joining in.

Funeral Arranger Pauline explains, “In my display I have included images of the celebrations on the streets of London and the Royal family with Winston Churchill on the Buckingham Palace balcony, along with a newspaper front page and a photograph of my own Grandad who served and was one of the lucky ones to make it home again.”
