Service of Remembrance, Thanksgiving & Hope, St James Church, Weybridge
Last Sunday, Lodge Brothers Funeral Directors hosted their annual Service of Remembrance Thanksgiving and Hope, this time at St James Parish Church in Weybridge.
For several years, the local 7th generation family-run funeral directors have held this service for their families, to help them come to terms with their loss.
Led by Reverend Brian Prothero, the service was well attended and featured a poem read by Beverley Lodge and bible reading by District Manager, Bill Wilde. The Weyward Singers and saxophonist Robert Goodhew provided the wonderful musical accompaniment.
During the service members of the congregation were invited to light candles in memory of their loved ones.
“It was a very moving and heartfelt service, especially when the lights were dimmed and the church was bathed in candle light“, said Beverley Lodge. “The carol Silent Night was sung, followed by a moment of reflection, while the saxophonist played ‘The Christmas Waltz’.”
