Royal Ascot Behind Closed Doors
June 18th, 2020
Royal Ascot Racing kicks off on June 16th 2020 but this year will be very different. As the horses and jockeys get under way without the usual thousands-strong crowd to cheer them on. The monarch will be absent from the renowned annual race for the first time in her 68-year reign, the Queen said she was sure it would remain a “highlight of the racing calendar”.
But this year there will be no monarch, no royal carriage procession, no trophy presentations and no spectators amid strict Government guidelines brought in when racing resumed at the start of the month.
