Loved ones remembered in service
NORTH PADDINGTON: More than 150 people attended a memorial service for their loved ones at Our Lady of Lourdes and St Vincent de Paul Church, in Harrow Road, on November 5.
An hour-long mass was conducted by Father Francis Darkwah, followed by a presentation of names and the lighting of candles.
The service, supported by E.A. Langley funeral director, was aimed at offering support for grieving families who are struggling to come to terms with the loss of a loved one.
Paul Bye, district manager for the funeral director, said: “Like the church, the funeral director plays a vital role in the local community both before and after bereavement, so it seemed natural to team up with Father Francis and offer our time and support for the local community.”
They are already planning next year’s memorial service.
The church and funeral director will join forces again on December 3, to host a pensioners’ Christmas lunch in the church hall.
