Lodge Brothers Northolt in Royal Parks Half Marathon for Michael Sobell Hospice
On Saturday 6th October, Peter Breslin, District Manager for Lodge Brothers in Hillingdon & Northolt District, took part in the Royal Parks Half-Marathon – a race that is fast establishing itself as a major event in British distance running circles.
Starting and finishing in Hyde Park, the 16,000 runners also pass through St James Park, Green Park and Kensington Gardens taking in some of the capital’s most beautiful landmarks; Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Admiralty Arch, Prince Albert Memorial, Palace of Westminster and The Serpentine.
Peter was running to raise money for Michael Sobell Hospice, which is based at Mount Vernon Hospital, Northwood, Middlesex.
The team at MSH has been providing specialist palliative care since the 16 bed in-patient unit opened in 1977. It is supported entirely by voluntary contributions and needs £6,000 per day to run. Peter’s work colleagues helped him to raise over £500 for his efforts.
