Ruislip Funeral Directors Bring Travelling Pantomime Troupe to Brackenbridge House
Transporting 50 to 60 frail ladies from their Nursing Home to a theatre to watch a seasonal pantomime is a logistical and practical problem that most Care Home Managers would not even consider tackling. The cost, both in manpower and financial outlay would be considerable, notwithstanding the strain on the ladies themselves. So when Gill Browne, Manager of Brackenbridge House Care Home in Ruislip, approached Peter Breslin, Lodge Brothers Hillingdon District Manager, for his assistance, he was glad to help.
A Travelling Pantomime Troupe, based in Leyland, Lancashire, was identified and booked to perform ‘Mother Goose’ in the Dining Room [which was transformed into a mini-theatre] at Brackenbridge House. A lively cast ensured the residents had a fabulous time – and all in the comfort of their own home!
