The Late Sydney ‘Pat’ Peachey Gets a Spectacular Send-Off
The Funeral Service of a senior Feltham resident, the late Sydney Patrick Peachey was carried out on Monday at St Dunstan’s Parish Church in Feltham.
Sydney Peachey, who was know to family and friends as ‘Pat’, had seen active service in World War II and was a cook and sergeant in the RAF. A resident of Feltham for many years, he was 98 when he died at the end of January.
His funeral procession was a spectacular sight, with a four-horse drawn hearse and a two-horse drawn Victorian mourning car.
Quentin Edgington, District Manager for the Feltham area, said, “In my sixteen years working for Lodge Brothers, this was the first funeral I have conducted with a Victorian ‘mourning car’. It is very unusual, but an impressive send-off for a very well regarded local Feltham resident.”
