Lodge Brothers aid a stricken Angel
Local Funeral Directors and Memorial Stonemasons, Lodge Brothers have come to the aid of a Shepperton angel who lost her marble hands when thieves vandalised St Mary Magdalene Church in Squires Bridge Road.
‘We like to think we are on the side of the angels’ said Chris Lodge, who manages Lodge Brothers’ memorial stonemasonry division, ‘and like so many local people we were upset to hear of the angel losing her hands and were determined to do something about it. As a local, family owned business, supporting the local community is something we are proud to do and what better than to help a fallen angel’
Accordingly stonemasons from Lodge Brothers have visited the church, measured the angel and are now busy making a new pair of hands. Soon the angel will be restored to her former glory thanks to Lodge Brothers who are donating their services and expertise fee of charge
Angels Delight
Alison Waters the Vicar at St Mary Magdalene, who was very sad when she discovered the original damage, said she was absolutely delighted to hear of the gift from Lodge Brothers.
