J.Monk & Sons Host Service of Remembrance
For the second year running J.Monk & Sons, Guildford’s family run funeral directors, have hosted a Carol Service of Remembrance at the URC Church, Guildford. The service was held for families who, over the last twelve months or so, have lost a loved one in the area.
Held on the 3rd of December over a 100 people packed the church. The Reverend Phillip Jones conducted the service with Father Alex Hill and the Reverend Kirsten Rosslyn-Smith in attendance. Keith Hopkins, the manager of G. Boutell welcomed the congregation and carols were sung to the rousing accompaniment of the Almac Bisley brass band.
Andrew Lodge, Director of Lodge Brothers (Funerals) Ltd, who own J. Monk & Sons, gave the closing remarks and refreshments, including mulled wine, were served afterwards. The whole service was agreed to be hugely successful with lots of comments of congratulations from those attending
